Eyelid lift (Blepharoplasty)

Blepharoplasty is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic surgeries worldwide.  Age and gravity combine to cause laxity and descent of the facial tissues over time, and nowhere is this more noticeable than in the area around the eyes.  Typical changes include heaviness of the upper eyelid and fullness of the lower eyelid.

Blepharoplasty is an outpatient surgery designed to correct these changes and restore a youthful appearance to the lids and the eyes. Excess tissue of the upper and lower lids can be removed, recontoured, or repositioned.  Incisions are camouflaged in the upper eyelid crease and along the inside of the lower eyelid.  This surgery is commonly performed for cosmetic reasons produces a refreshed, natural appearance. Occasionally, the upper eyelid surgery is performed to increase the field of vision in an individual whose heavy lids diminish their peripheral vision.
